Crude Oil Valuation and Pricing
This course presents an introduction to crude oil valuation and pricing. The first day is a primarily a discussion of crude oil. This includes worldwide crude oil supplies, crude oil pricing and crude oil quality. In addition petroleum product demand and specifications are discussed. This is followed with a description of key refinery process technology that impacts crude oil valuation. The last day is a discussion of crude oil valuation for both crude oil producers and refiners.
This course is offered as part of the Statewide Extended Studies Program of the Colorado Commission on Higher Education. The Colorado School of Mines will award 1.8 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) upon successful completion of this course.
Who Should Attend
In addition to crude oil producers, other individuals who interact the industry will benefit from this course. This includes crude oil traders, accounting (contact state accountancy board regarding CPE credits), finance, insurance, suppliers, and engineers who have limited experience. A technical background is not required for course participants.
