About this course…

Natural Gas Processing course gives you an overview of the natural gas industry, from wellhead to marketplace, including discussions of gas plant operations. The overall process flow diagram is used to illustrate how the individual plant operations are integrated to create gas plants capable of handling feeds from gas fields around the world.

You will gain a working knowledge of the major processes for gas processing including compression, dehydration, acid gas removal, sulfur recovery and tail gas cleanup, cryogenic extraction of natural gas liquids (NGL), as well as LNG production.

The course concludes with attendees working in teams to propose a conceptual design of a new gas plant based on realistic gas inlet and outlet requirements

The course objective is to provide you with a common base of gas processing knowledge allowing you to communicate effectively with others in the gas industry.

Who should attend?

The course targets anyone needing a basic understanding of gas processing and its common technologies. Past attendees had very diverse backgrounds: operations (plant & field), gas gathering, engineering, instrument & controls, regulatory, management, risk and asset management, environmental, accountants, production planners/scheduling, legal/contracts, sales of support equipment or services, new hires, HSE, government agencies, etc.

The course is useful to a diverse group because it provides a broad overview and focuses on the basics of gas processing technology.

Continuing education credits

Colorado School of Mines will award participants 2.4 Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) to participants who complete this course.
