33rd Oil Shale Symposium

October 14 - 16, 2013

Symposium Description

Colorado School of Mines, along with the Center for Oil Shale Technology and Research, will host the 33rd Oil Shale Symposium at the Green Center on the campus of Colorado School of Mines.

The Symposium will review development of oil shale resources worldwide, including research and development, impact analysis, regulatory framework, and project and program status.

The Symposium will consist of a broad overview session on Monday afternoon (October 14th), followed by two days of technical sessions in many different program areas on Tuesday and Wednesday (October 15 - 16). Learn more...

Symposium Objectives

The symposium content is directed primarily toward those active in the development of oil shale resources, including those in the energy industry, government, academic, and stakeholder communities.

The field trip is directed at engineers, scientists, stakeholders, and regulators involved in oil shale development.

Symposium Program

The Symposium Program, containing the Symposium schedule, paper titles, and presenter information, will be available in September 2013.

Field Trip

A two-day field trip to the Piceance Creek and Uinta Basins will provide insights into the oil shale resource from geological and technological perspectives. Learn more...
