About this course...

Shotcrete Fundamentals and Applications is a comprehensive discussion of all phases of shotcrete: planning, design, implementation, quality assurance, and control. Concepts and tools learned in this course are applicable to underground civil projects and mining development support.

During this course, the basics of cement-based materials and mix design basics that can be used worldwide will be covered. Repair of underground structures and methods to increase long term durability of underground facilities will also be discussed.

An optional Lab and Field Demo Day (separate registration required) will allow participants to gain hands-on experience with shotcrete materials, equipment and testing.

Each course instructor has many years of experience working on projects around the world. They are all active in professional organizations such as the American Concrete Institution (ACI) and American Shotcrete Association (ASA) and participate on committees and contribute to the specifications.

The Course Material will include the Guide to Specifying Underground Shotcrete, Guide to Shotcrete, and Specification for Shotcrete.

Who should attend?

The course is designed for owners, designers, and contractors. Owners will develop an understanding of the use of shotcrete. Designers will gain information necessary to effectively design with shotcrete and the ability to be assured that the placed shotcrete is meeting their design criteria. Finally, contractors will be introduced to tools that will help them assure others that the shotcrete installed is to the design parameters and meets the design needs.

If you need specifications, write specifications, or perform to specifications of Underground Shotcrete, you should attend this course.
