Dr. Anthony Petrella is Director of the Computational Biomechanics Group in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Mines. His teaching and research efforts focus on computational methods for mechanical design, including optimization, DOE, and probabilistic analysis. He was manager of computational biomechanics at DePuy Orthopaedics prior to joining Mines. He is also Director of the new FEA Professional graduate certificate program at Mines and leads the Design for Additive Manufacturing curriculum within the Advanced Manufacturing Program.
Dr. Craig Brice is Director of the newly established Advanced Manufacturing Program at Mines. He has been working in additive manufacturing for 20 years, with time spent at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Advanced Development Programs (Skunk Works), Lockheed Martin Space Advanced Technology Center, and NASA Langley Research Center. His work over the years has focused on alloy development, process monitoring and feedback control systems, and part qualification. He has served as lead/co-lead on DoD collaborative projects worth over $20M, including an AM qualification program for the F-35 and the recently awarded ONR Quality Made project.
