Jim Crompton is a consulting subject matter expert in the digital oilfield and in the data foundation enabling use of data-driven analytical techniques for oil and gas applications. He is director of Reflections Data Consulting LLC in Colorado Springs, CO. Mr. Crompton retired from Chevron in 2013 after a 37 year career in geophysics and in information technology. He is a past SPE Distinguished Lecturer and a current director of the SPE Digital Energy Technology Section. He is a Chevron Fellow (emeritus) and received the Phillip C. Crouse Cornerstone Award from the Petroleum Network Education Conferences (PNEC) in 2017. Jim was a past chair of the API PIDX ecommerce standards committee and a current member of the Public Petroleum Data Management (PPDM) Denver leadership team.
Elio Dean is an associate teaching professor at Colorado School of Mines focused on reservoir engineering, who also teaches courses in petroleum economics and petroleum analytics. His industry experienced is focused in field development, enhanced oil recovery, numerical simulation, and staying up to date with the digital oilfield. Prior to becoming a member of the faculty at Colorado School of Mines, Elio worked for Surtek (EOR consulting firm) and ExxonMobil Development Company as a reservoir engineer.
